The Outpost is our version of a Teen Church:  As of Jan. 2010  takes place during our former sharing time from 7:30-8:00 time slot.  Where we all gather in the Game Room for 1 or 2 upbeat worship songs, and a staff person or youth share God's word with the entire group.  To date it has been encouraging to have the youth come say to Artie, I would like to share my testimony.  After the Outpost gathering we all get together in the Multi-Purpose Room for a nice meal fixed by our kitchen crew.  This gives an opportunity for everyone to discuss what was shared or to go into a private room with a staff person to pray, and/or discuss what is going on in their lives.

The first Friday night of the month we also get together as staff and the youth that want to join us for a worship time and an opportunity to set up the schedule for the rest of the month.

The first Friday night of the month 9:15 PM, after the teen center activities have closed for the night, we invite anyone in the Oxford Hills and surrounding area to join us. We welcome you to join us at "The Outpost" If you are a young person already attending His Place Teen Center, or have come across our website feel free to invite your friends, your parents, their friends, or anyone that is not already in a good Bible believing church service on a regular basis to "The Outpost". If you are looking for a place to learn about God, the Bible, have good fellowship with others consider "The Outpost" on the first Friday night of the month beginning at 9:15.

Teen Church: This idea was discussed with local pastors and bathed in much prayer before we started on Friday September 19, 2003. This was after His Place Teen Center had operated over 10 years and to despite our best efforts were not able to get them plugged into a good bible believing church (after we introduced them to a life serving Jesus Christ), in the Oxford Hills and surrounding area. It is not our goal or mission to keep them from attending bible believing churches in the area but most of the youth we deal with on a weekly basis are not attending anyones church and quite often don't know how to behave in a church setting. We believe strongly that Teen Church helps get them ready for the local church and it is our aim and purpose to encourage that as they grow.

Teen Church took place every Friday night at 9:15 in our Multi-Purpose Room after closing the Game Room at 9:00 PM. This happened every Friday night except the last Friday of the month to make room for the Saturday Night Teen Church, starting at 6:00 PM (the first Saturday of every month).

As of January 2010 we changed over to having "Outpost" during our former sharing time 7:30-8:00 time slot, in an effort to reach the entire group of youth in attendance on Friday nights as explained above.

These youth are not going to anyones church and get a chance to learn about God in an environment conducive to them. We are in hope that reaching the youth will also reach the parents and friends in the community that are not attending church anywhere either. This is an earnest effort to carry out the great commission and to go into the highways and byways and compel them to come in. Matthew 28:19, and Mark 16:15.

Teen Church, now called "The Outpost" is completely voluntary.
